The neck is thicker,but it isn't a bad thing. It is one of the most comfortable guitars that I have ever played.

I didn't get a case with mine which is ok with me because I've heard that the Schecter cases are not that sturdy. As far as the frets they are at amazing, the whole guitar is well constructed, and like I said before it is one of the most comfortable guitars that I have ever played. It does have some heft to it, but I actually like.
