Question about Agile Interceptor 25 Trem Routing?
Hello guys, I received my Agile Interceptor 25.5" from Technomancer the other day, and when I opened the trem routing and took off the cover where the springs are located, I noticed the trem posts literally go through the wood onto the other side partially.
Is this normal? Should I be concerned? Seeing as I bought it used I cannot complain back to Kurt from Rondo, though it is less than a month since Steve (Technomancer) purchased it. I don't mind it visually unless it can cause serious issues down the road. When I get home I'll take some pictures to post on here. thanks all! EDIT: Just to note, I LOVE this guitar other than this problem I am slightly worried about. Even with the much thicker and painted neck I go back and forth between it and my UV777PBK without issues. I'll give a more detailed review in another thread when I get home tonight. |

Apologies, I would have definitely noted that if I had known about it. I never checked the trem route on that guitar as I ordered a 27 before doing any kind of setup.
That said as long as the studs are securely fixed and not movable it shouldn't cause a problem. If I recall the trem studs on those run through a metal plate under the trem, which should in theory prevent any problems.

Ah! I apologize if it seemed I was blaming you, far from it! I could tell when I was taking the cover off it had never been taken off before, and I don't put you under any blame.
I figured such was the case, and especially because I plan to block the bridge in a week or so, I don't expect the bridge to ever move enough to cause a problem. The only other issues with the Agile (and this is for their 7 strings in general, not this particular guitar, or even model) is that I'm not a fan of their string set which I believe is 9-52. The 52 is simply too thin a string in my opinion, and being that I tune to drop A, cannot intonate correctly with the 25.5" scale, even with the saddle all the way back it's too sharp. I much prefer a thicker low string, using a .059 for the low A on my Universe. Not having any spare .059's at the moment I slapped a .054 on the low string and the intonation is now almost perfect, and when I get a .058 or .059 I expect to be able to make it spot on. So now, time for a review! Once I tuned up the guitar, replaced the low string, set intonation, and tuned up again, I tried this bad boy out. The neck, while thick, was quick for me to get used to and for some reason the fretboard itself felt a lot like my Universe, not like the Schecter 7's (which I've never liked). I'm a big fan of the ebony fretboard as well, something I've always wanted to have on a 7 string. The EMG's compared to the Dimarzio Blazes sound better in my opinion, I feel like the 7th string really stands out more with the pickup and even with the .054 string (which is still a little thin for an A in my opinion). My ideal choice would be Blackouts, since there's no room for a 2nd 9v battery to try out the 18v mod, but for now I'm content. And now, I'll let the pictures speak for themselves! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Yeah if you're blocking it you really shouldn't have any problems. I also didn't think you were blaming me, but I do try to note anything weird like that when I sell somebody a guitar
![]() And I hear you on string gauges. I play 10-68 in B standard (though I do have a 9-68 set spec'ed out that I want to try) ![]() |
