Heh.

Wow, I wish I could help. Sounds like, first off, you could use 1) a truss rod adjustment, 2) raise your bridge, and 3) change your strings.

Doing any one of these things could help, all 3 might be necessary.

What exactly does a bag of smashed assholes sound like?

If it's only the B string that's buzzing, a truss rod adjustment is an odd idea - it seems as though the other strings are OK, so the B string should be heavier and/or raised. Since many other people find that their RG1527s don't sound like that, you might want to find out what they're doing.... You do know that even a $300 Lollar custom-wound pickup can't rescue a Peavey Backstage, MicroCube or Line 6 amp from sounding like what they are? Think of the pickup as the pizza you ate last night, the strings as the Schlitz malt you washed it down with, your fingers are your asshole and the toilet is your ears... or something like that, there are a lot more reasons to sound like shit than not! And Paris Hilton is always going to be richer than you and we're all going to die.... have a GREAT day!

Heavier?

A heavier B is even more likely to buzz. More fret contact.

At first blanch, I'd say raise the bridge, especially bass side. But a bit of a truss rod tweak can possibly still help (it's worked for me with some success in the past for similar issues).

I'd check your intonation too.

Pluck an open string (but make sure it's in perfect tune) and then finger the 12th fret of the same string and if that 2nd octave note is sharp or flat, your intonation is out on that string. Then do the same thing to check the other strings.

If it is, there's a good lesson on Jemsite.

?

Explain, please. A heavier string will flop around less for a given pick attack, thus less likely to buzz. Unless of course it's so heavy the player can't press it down hard enough to make good solid contact with the fret.

In my experience, a heavier string might vibrate less, but it's more likely because of its diameter to contact the offending frets. Results in buzz.

I've put lighter (wound) strings on (mildly) buzzing guitars, and as long as the attack isn't crazy, there was LESS appreciable buzz.

There.
