I'm in the same boat as you, but I went to a guitar store and tried a Schecter C7. The difference isn't that great. I suggest trying it out for yourself, if you can. No one else can tell you for sure that you'll like it.

If it's only $200 and it's in mint shape I'd snag it just to have a beater guitar.

I've owned 2 schecters who apparently all had 26.5 scale, the problem is I didn't even know it and didn't notice it either. I had a 7-string NJ warlock and I never noticed any different from that one and the schecters in scale lenght.

Now with that said. I would never recommend a bc rich to anybody but for 200 dollars it doesn't really mater what kind of brand it is, it's still a good deal. I think you should be able to get 200 dollars for it on ebay, if you decide to sell it a year later or so.
Buy it and block the floyd, because those cheap floyds on the bc rich causes more problem then anything

I get the BC Rich just for the kicks-factor. Throw some new pickups in there and that thing probably slays. I'm more of a fan of the Warbeast though, with its exaggerated horns.

I used to own a BC Rich Rave 2 (earlier Warlock) and it was actually quite comfortable to play sitting down. I also wouldn't recommend BC Rich generally, but that price is a steal.
