I have some Sperzels on my Ibanez RG 321MH and it took almost no modification. I just had to stick a piece of sandpaper into each hole and just barely file out some of the wood. The whole thing took me maybe 10 minutes and the holes lined up, the posts were just a tad thicker than stock.

Really? You got locking Sperzels with screws rather than the locator pins? Or are these non-locking? (They're a different design.)

Yeah with screws, they're a bit old, I think they came off of my cousin's ESP M-II but I'm not sure. But they definately lock down

actually... I wasn't joking about the drill and new washer. It's always an option, theres just a high-risk situation there if you have an unsteady hand, or don't know what your doing.

I have one too. It's my beater axe..

Tuners are Gotoh. Corts are made in the same factorys as the Ibanez's.

The Schallers are also more likely to be a "drop in" replacement, since the Sperzels use pins instead of screws to anchor them...
Thanks for the helpful info Eaeolian! I guess I'm going with the Schallers!

What's the gear ratio mean anyways? My planet waves tuners have an 18:1 ratio. I know that it's usually better if that first number is higher, but why?

And thanks Dormant for the other input!

Haha, yeah I know! I found your thread when I searched for the guitar in google. I even emailed you once about whether or not you put new pickups in it and what you put in? You never e-mailed me back!

It's all good though!

That's the number of turns of the button to one turn of the peg. Generally, a higher ratio allows for more accurate tuning. The Sperzels occasionally drive me nuts with this...

If you take a look at the back of the headstock there on Sephrioth's Cort 7 (same as mind), the tuners don't have screw holes. I just noticed that the Schallers do have a place for screw holes. Is this gonna be hard to install myself? Should I have someone else do it? Do I need to drill a hole?
