Buying my first 7-string(what should i get)

i like to play death metal so i figured getting a seven would be the smartest thing to do. but yeah this is what im looking for, so suggest me some stuff

has to be locking tremelo.

i really like the chugging and tremelo pickin' stuff for the most part. but i want something that can do all types of metal

thats about it. so suggest me somethins

I would suggest Schecter...Despite the fact that a lot of people here don't really like Schecter, they are an awesome metal guitar. I used to own a C-1 Elite (not a 7 but stil a schecter) and it played like butter...it's only my opinion, good luck on finding a 7 string that suits you though.

Cool
Id highly recommend Agile then
Schecter C7 hellraiser is deff worth checkin out as they have the new 08 Floyd rose models now.

have a ganders are this:

Agile Interceptor Pro 27 Tribal Green at HomeOld

The Schecter is prob the better guitar BUT Agiles feel abit more awesome i think hahah and look killer! plus its a slightly longer scale lenth and cus of the woods agile use a slightly darker tone. Which is Very cool!
There are Hundreds of posts about these guitars so the SEARCH thing will help u with that if ya like

What is your budget? This is crucial to know. If your budget was high, people wouldn't keep mentioning Agiles and Schecters probably ya know?

If under $1000, I'd recommend the Schecter Jeff Loomis model, Ibanez XPT707, Carvin DC727, Jackson COW, or ESP SC607B. If you could spend around $2000 I'd recommend a Bernie Rico Jr custom shop 7 naturally, doesn't get any better than that IMO. Other good options in that price range would include Caparison, Mike Sherman, etc.

I didn't recommend anything in between $1000 and $2000 because the models I mentioned for under $1000 are equally as good if not better than those in the $1000-1500 range. And for the $1500-2000 range, the price is so close to what a custom shop handmade neck-thru 7-string would cost, that it wouldn't make a lot of sense IMO.

I'd concider an Ibanez RG7620 if $500 is your budget. I love mine and I also play a lot of death metal type stuff. They usually go for around $350-$450, depending on condition. So you'd probably have enough left over to swap the pickups which I'd recomend. I'm still waiting for my Evo7 to arrive.

RIP MIKE
