![]() | Blackjack or hellraiser??? this must have been discused many times but, i want your opinion... since both guitars are pretty much the same except for pick-up and price what would be the main differences in TONE between 707 and Duncans. i never owned a guitar with active pups, mostly stock Ibanez . i like Arch Enemy's tone ( Amott use Duncans) ![]() i like Nevermore's tone ( Loomis...well we all know) ![]() help, the ''buy it now'' button is itching |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | emgs are a bit more compressed sounding, and some people find them clinical, but i find a re-eq'ing helps that. they still will sound more compressed though. other thing to take into consideration, is you can swap out the duncans later. with the loomis, youre only alternative (unless you want it lookin fuggly) is blackouts (which isnt a bad alternative) Reverse Headstocks or Bust Dude...i just got a spam email that was titled "Funky date rape trick" -Zepp88 I just got another funny email "Her pussy smiled at me" -Zepp88 Don't tell me you haven't heard of Raptor Jesus It's important that you know this information :headnod: It will decide your fate when we are pwned. -JoeOvChaosI was going KAT KAT KAT KAT and you were going KAT... chk... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | as far as nevermore you have to factor in Chris Broderick cause he has a godly tone. but if you are going EMGs Vs. Duncan.... Duncan wins. |

![]() | I've owned both. The Hellraiser had very slightly better playability, but the EMG's really started to get on my nerves. Too compressed and fizzy for my taste. The only other difference besides pickups is that the Hellraiser has a mahogany neck. |

![]() | I think Chris Broderick played with Nevermore live only. Far as the pickups go, I wish I could comment. I've only messed with Ibanez but I think I would love to try out a Schechter out. There is one in my local pawnshop with "tribal" inlays. Wouldn't be bad for only a couple hundred bucks but it's only a 6 string . |

![]() ![]() | I have both... a ATX with Blackouts and my new Loomis with EMG's..... And I had a Hellraiser with EMGs... the guitar body and neck make a big difference to me... the EMGs did not sound so good in my Hellraiser but in this Loomis they Rock!!!! If I had to pick between those I would go with with the blackouts...... But Buy a Loomis!!!! ![]() LOL |
