I saw that over on the Feline website and I remember Jonathan talking on the Bareknuckle site about how he was thinking putting another pickup in the neck position.

How do you think the EMG compares to your Warpig?

I think it sounds awesome like that. I've done things the opposite too. With one guitar playing chords on the bridge pickup while a guitar plays lead over it on the neck pickup.

I also think that a guitar with only one pickup looks like it's missing something
I have to agree. I rarely use the neck pickup but it does get used. There's nothing like a bluesy neck pickup tone when you need it. It also provides for some interesting tonal variety when using distortion on it for a bit of a twisted overly bassy tone. These are tones you simply can not get through effects. And besides... you're not gaining anything by not having the neck pickup in place. But it's true. It's all personal preference. I just prefer to have the option

Yeah that's the Feline one, I posted that on Jemsite ages ago. Nice to see Jonathan sold it, he's had it a while. He's got some tasty guitars and his prices are pretty good too. Only a bus and tram ride away from me as well!

Speaking of Feline, I have to get round to him finishing off my 7-string, if only GuitarPartsDepot could send me the fookin' left handed locking nut! *strop*

How do you think the EMG compares to your Warpig?

Well the Warpig is in a Basswood bodied Washburn. The Washburn doesn't compare to the Ibanez at all. I think the warpig would sound alot better in a better guitar. But the EMG has alot more gain and but doesn't have as much bass as the Warpig. But i heard a warpig 7 string in a Squier 7 string through a JCM800 re-issue and it sounded killer.

Both very good pickups but the Warpig needs to be put in an already great guitar.

Roland777 is a jewel in the rough
I don't think I could manage to have a guitar with one bridge pickup, if I'm expected to play the stuff I presently play. Doesn't give me the tonal versatility that I want. However, for distorted stuff exclusively, I guess it'd do.

However, that is one SWEET guitar, all the way through! Great catch!
