Bringing the RG7420 into the equation is hardly fair when everything else has precision manufactured trems like the OFR or LoPro. The Takeuchi LoTRS7 is a cheap, yet still outstanding trem. ![]() |

I think the general consensus is that the Edge Pro and Lo Pro and about equal, it's mostly down to personal preference. The build quality is good on both, but I hate the locking "blocks" on the saddle for the Edge Pro. One advantage an Edge Pro has over a Lo Pro though is that you can get a new 1527 with a mint trem, where as a 7620 might have some corrosion, or wear on it. Either way, a 7620 would run you less, and if you want it as a beater guitar it fits the description, and has a hell of a trem on it. If it's down to a 7420 and a 1527 though, 1527 all the way.

Newer flavour of same.
Takeuchi is the brand name that manufactures Ibanez's trems. The Lo-TRS7 has "Ibanez" stamped on it, but 'Takeuchi" stamped in the spring block. |

Someone has said before that the newer TRS trems aren't such piles of shit that they once were, or maybe it's the TRS-II. Or something... Either way, it's widely known that the Edge Pro and Lo Pro are kick ass trems, so if you want a sure thing, go with them. Or an OFR if you find something that you like with that on it, like a Loomis if you're into Schecters.
