I needs a 7, but which is best?
Alright, I love my EBMM so much but it's too nice to use outside of my bedroom. I need a 7 that I can not worry about being ultra careful with and crying if it gets a ding.
I was looking at the Schecter Hellraiser, RG1527 and a 7420 from ebay. I'd be more partial to a 7420 over a 1527, but if I'd do that I'd want one as mint as I could find or else I'd just put the money towards a new one of the others. The 1527 is cool, it just seems kind of underwhelming. I like the paint job, but I'd really like to not have to shell out more cash for pickups and crap. So with the Hellraiser, it appeals to me a lot I just wish I could try one somewhere. GC in Monroeville had a really, really cheap Schecter I didn't like at all. The Hellraiser seems a good deal at 749 with two EMGs and all the other features, but how much would one with an FR cost? If any of you could offer info on the Hellraiser compared to the others or anything at all that'd be cools to the max. |

My Hellraiser prototype is great! I love it. I'm not sure of the price difference between the two models, however the difference between a TOM Loomis and an OFR equipped Loomis is about $200. I'm not sure if that price increase would remain constant for the Hellraiser series though.
I know there has been a ton of talk around here, but why don't you check out the Agile guitars? They have a lot to offer at very reasonable prices. One would definitely be worthy of a NICE beater 7 string to play elsewhere. 27" scale, EMGs, ebony fretboard, quilted top, LFR, etc. All for $599.99. Not bad at all. However, I will tell you my Agile sounds darker than my Hellraiser. If you want a dark sound, get the Agile. If you want a nice middle ground between dark and bright, get the Hellraiser. Either way, you can't go wrong. Dark clouds in your heaven. Your end has only begun. You can scream but there's no rescue, I promise I'll make you sure that you die in time. ![]() |

Depends wat u want in a guitar? as in in thin neck or scale lenth feel n all that jizz
ibanez ftw when it comes to thin necks the 1527 stock pickups will be crap BUT the floyd will be awesome. and an old 7420 or 7620 will not be as good (floydrose wise) but still be wicked and id choose an older 7420 or 7620 than a 1527 anyday. plus the royalblue 1527 finish blows balls schecter would be a very good choice and i would choose it personaly over the ibanez idea BUT it does have a thicker neck and is noticable but that doesnt mean its a bad thing. comes down to personal preferance. And AGILE are totally worth checking out - without a doubt! id say go for a schecter (or agile if you like - scheter is the better guitar tho) or if u manage to find a good deal on an old ibanez go for it |

To the OP - get an rg7620 - great guitars, great trems, very cheap and available everywhere. Best place to look is craigslist or on here or ebay. |

A 7620 is the way to go man. It's been compared to UV's
and we all know how badass UV's are. |

The cheap Schecter 7 at GC was probbably a Gryphon. My GC had one, I played it and liked the neck but thought the guitar sounded like absolute shit.
As an RG7420 owner, I would advise against getting it. The Licensed FLoyd Pose is a pain in the ass to deal with. The best bang for the buck would be the Hellraiser. |

My best advice is go out and try them out ( rg 7420/7620/1527/) let you fingers do the thinking. Chooze carefully cause you'l end up like the rest of us on this board
and by that I ment ...trading & selling your guitars over and over for the rest of your life ....![]() ![]() The Curse of G.A.S ![]() ![]() |

the only newer ibanez floyd i own is a 6 so cant really say its awesome (for 7s) but its unreal how awesomely good it is for my 6 and i try not to use my 7420s trem as it will send the tuning abit funky eventualy. sometimes it holds out very well tho it must be said |
