My next buy...

should be an esp vp230-sl7 in vintage white when i head to japan middle of next month.

this is actually the predecessor of the current esp vp-sl7. only difference is the string-thru-body. i will be all over it if she came with an ebony fretboard. so question is, should i be getting it?

specs are:

BODY Honduras Mahogany
NECK Hard Maple 3P
GRIP SHAPE Thin U
FINGERBOARD Rosewood , 24frets
RADIUS 305R
SCALE 27 inch (686mm)
NUT (width) Carbon (1.6725inch / 42mm)
FRET #216
INLAY Dot
JOINT Bolt-on
TUNER SperzelŪ Trim-Lock
BRIDGE Tune-matic / Tailpiece
PICKUPS (Front) Seymour Duncan SH-1n-7
(Rear) Seymour Duncan SH-5-7
CONTROL Master Volume, Master Tone
Toggle PU Selector

your thoughts and feedback will be nice.

thanks as always,
dani

that is shit hot mate!
my mate has the old ltd version, and the neck on his looks alot wider than that.

...Each guitarist has an evil fat 40 year old blueswankler trying to get out, If you give in to temptation you'll be sitting next to a fender playing john lee hooker while trying to keep your combover in place.

27inch scale?

WOW.

Purple Guitars Lover.

"Let me put Meshuggah's heaviness into perspective for you. Periphery's music is like having life altering sex with the hottest girl you've ever seen, their music IS that stimulating. Meshuggah's music is like being strapped to a chair, unable to move with your eyes taped open, and watching your entire family get run over by a tank, their music IS that powerful." - Some dude at youtube.

everything looks cool but i wonder why they went bolt on instead of set neck like the rest of esps viper line.

iirc, all viper sl7 have a bolt-on neck. i am thinking that a set neck in a offset sg-style body may not have the necessary support for the extra tension of a 7 with a 27" scale as opposed to a bolt-on. of course i may be wrong, but it seems like that is the most logical reason.

fwiw, even their m-7 has a bolt-on neck.
