As they're entirely custom unless you order a Sirius 8 it depends on what you want. The Sirius 8 is $2300 base.

Specs:

* 8 strings
* 32 frets
* 27.5" scale
* Gaboon Ebony fingerboard
with Curly Maple binding
* African Mahogany body
* 5/8" Curly Maple top
* 7 piece Curly Maple/ Purple Heart set neck
* Hipshot bridge
* EMG HZ 40 pickup (passive with coil wiring option) - standard
* Custom Villex pickup with matching wood pickup cover (optional $100 upgrade)

Sorry for the threadjack

In guess it boils down to if I'm going to drop >$3k on a guitar it sure as hell isn't going to EBMM.

Incoming Pimptastic Purple KxK Singlecut of Doom
Orange 2x12 - Damn am I colorful

Petrucci's sigs are awesome, no doubts, but price could be little lower imo

The neck alone jsutifies the price tag. The fret wire helps, the exotic wood choices help, the bridge helps, the looks help...its so worth it!
You clearly drank the Koolaid as guess what, mahogany, maple, alder, and rosewood are not exotic woods... never have been, never will be regardless of what the EBMM marketing department tries to say.

Also, having played a number of high end guitars, including Ibanez J-Customs and a number of customs from various builders I can tell you from experience the EBMMs are nothing to get excited about. They're well built, but they're on par with things in the $2k price range from a number of different sources. And the fretwork on them is blown away by what you find on an Ibanez J-Custom.

Sounds like a bad setup on the JP7.

Be the change you want to see in the world.

String Seraphim will become famous soon enough
My personal impression from owning one is that they play wonderfully, but the sound is really mediocre at least when the bridge pickup is involved. I hear the DS7 was a huge improvement, but the basswood body left something to be desired. They really play amazing but $4k is fender, gibson, and custom guitar territory. I would never pay that much for one guitar it's really nuts unless you're getting a custom made to the exact dimensions of your hand, but that's just my humble opinion.

I thought exactly the opposite, the 7 string rules, the 6 string was just no good at all. But thankfully is much cheaper and still better than an Ibanez.
