Blackouts Phase 2 in Hellraiser - Mini Picstory
So, I saw they're finally available at Thomann, thought about it (for 2 Minutes) and ordered them. They arrived today, here's what happened:
I like that logo...METAL! ![]() EMG 81-7 and 707 plus dirty from last gig and dry fretboard=no win (not yet) ![]() Once again in all its beauty :![]() Cleared out: ![]() Close up (kinda sinister image ):![]() Bridge installed, neck about to go in. Clever detail, you can use either the quick connect OR the normal leads coming from the PU. 2 thumbs up for SD! ![]() Close up of both PUs in: ![]() And there she is, cleaned up, oiled, new strings, new PUs, ready to rock: ![]() Well, we practiced right after I was finished, so here's a little review... I'm Uber-Happy with it! They sound and feel more direct and dirty as the EMGs, pack the same pound and cut even better through than before. The low-end is more defined and way more chugga-chugga than on the EMGs, I figured I gotta be careful with the high-end though, the Duncans are pretty sharp (compared to my 81-7), or better sharp in another way than the EMGs. They also seem to be more balanced, versatile and kinda more alive than the EMGs. Very good PUs for what I like to play right now, shred on y'all! ![]() Niels PS: I still like the sounds I can get out of my EMGs, but the SDs suit me better right now. |

NICE. I was going to get some EMG's for my RG7321, but after hearing all the positive stuff about the blackouts i might just get some.. I'm not a hellraiser guy, but I've always digged the red finish on em. good shit man

Question. do the EMG's installed with my loomis have the whole quick connect thing going on? and there'd be practically no re-wiring to do and no pot changes?
i like my women like my steak. light brown on the outside, pink on the inside.
