DiMarzio pickups for a mahogany Carvin?

Looking for recommendations on DiMarzio 7-string pups for my DC727 that should arrive next week. It's mahogany neck/body, and I'm anticipating the pickups sucking to high heaven. Perhaps not, but I'd like to know what to replace them with ahead of time.

I LOVE Breeds. Of course they don't make a 7 string version. The Blaze's in my Universe I like as well. Of course, these are in basswood guitars, so I'm not sure what to expect out of the same pups in mahogany.

Any suggestions?

Blazes sound incredible in mahogany Carvins . i'm not even a huge fan of Blazes, but they work so well in both of mine.

I love the EVO7 + AN7 combo in my K7. The EVO was just unreal and the AN7 was silky smooth.

That's good to know. Did you wire them up yourself?

yeah.

i've owned 3 727s, one of them having the same exact wood combo as yours actually. rest assured, just about any Dimarzio you choose will be an improvement over the stock Carvin pickups, you really have nothing to worry about there .

Zand3 is a jewel in the rough
When I changed my DC727C (Mahogany N+B) pickups to Dimarzios (D-Sonic7 + Air Norton7) I didn't think it was a huge improvement, but definitely a good enough improvement to make the change worth it, although the Air Norton 7 still has yet to prove itself a little bit more to me ( haven't been playing clean much lately ) It's only been a couple of weeks or more using them, but I can say I absolutely love how the D Sonic works with my VHT 100 CLX...it sounds great.

i feel the AN7 is suited slightly better to basswood than mahogany. i didn't care for it at all in the neck or bridge in my all mahogany 727... love it in the neck of my Agile Interceptor (basswood) though! buy hey, alot of guys love that pickup in mahogany, so it all boils down to personal preference.

i also feel both Blazes compliment mahogany WAY better than basswood

Any thoughts on Evo's? I do like the Blaze's in my UV, but every time I play my 6, which has Breeds in it, I realize how much more I like them...
