7 String Acoustics

OK let's talk 7 string acoustic guitars. Anyone here of Giannini? Are there any others. My plan fell through to get that JP7 w/piezo, so this might be a cheaper alternative, albeit possibly a nicer one, tone wise!

I heard Giannini's sound amazingly nice. I actually plan on getting one after i get a job. I'll probably be the only person(i think) who tunes a classical guitar in Drop A.

here's a classical styled 7.

I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate.
We'll cross the streams.

Nik will become famous soon enough
Ibanez make a 7-string accoustic that I've heard plays really well. That's the one I'll probably get. And it costs around $700, so that's decent...

Piezos are nice, but they're still not a true accoustic. Piezos are good for live gigs, but when it comes to studio recording, there's no substitute for a genuine accoustic. In fact, it's the fact that John Petrucci uses a piezo electric on the amazing "An Evening With John Petrucci and Jorden Rudess" that is the only downside to that brilliant album.

I've tried the Giannini. It sounded all right, especially for the price, but it was easily the largest neck I've ever had my hands on. My technique is pretty good and my hands are average to above average size and there was absolutely no way I could play large chords on it.

As most of you know, I recently got an Emerald 7-string and while it's not perfect it is the best acoustic 7-string I've ever played.

I believe the Ibanez has been out of production for quite a while. I've owned two and while they played all right, the acoustic tone was very thin.

Yes I forgot about that one, nice...but pricey, no? But correct me if I am wrong here, isn't a classical neck generally bigger than say a western style acoustic?
