Pinch harmonics on a 7..

I'm just plain confused, guys!

I can get pinch harmonics from any of my sixers, no questions asked, easy as pie.

but my C7 wont give up the scream! i get kind of "half-assed" pinch harmonics if you will. I've tried changing my attack for the P.H. to no avail..

has this happened to anyone else? I dont think a 56 is too thick.. i was pulling them off a 52 just now as well.

It doesnt add up

3 cheers for free gear!

I play on 9-56's, and I pinch harmonic like a motherfucker...

Maybe the pickup height aren't 'tweaked'... that usually has an effect for me.

Hmm. Makes no sense to me. To me, pinch harmonics are much easier to do on a low B than on a thinner, higher string.

Is it only on the low B or are you having problems on other strings as well?

Is your guitar a 26.5" scale? Maybe you need to adjust the position of your hand a little tiny bit.

I also think bigger string makes it easier, look at zakk wylde he has what 0.60 for his low strings.

Try adjusting your hand and if that doesn't work, try raising your pickup a little.

Try some poke harmonics/artificial harmonics to see how those sound.

Are you on your bridge pup? What kind of pickup is it?

Hmmmmm

i've moved around between the pickups, trying to find the sweet spot. havent played artificial harmonics any time recently, i'll check 'em out.

pickup is a seymour duncan JB7, yes i'm in the bridge position. ultra channel on the jsx.

I've been trying different positions and positioning my hand differently.. they jes' ain't poppin out!

i seriously dont get it. its not like i can't play pinch harmonics, and i've tried changing my technique and where i play them.. and its somehow not working. I'm gonna try again next commercial break (lol).

like i said, it doesnt add up.

This.

It takes a bit of getting used to where the sweet spot is on a new scale length. My 27"-scale Ibanez still gets me sometimes

but i moved around to try and find it, with no luck!

i dont think i've not tried anything as yet lol. since the action is a little bit high (she needs a setup) i might raise the bridge pickup a touch.

I have no trouble at all getting on the Hellraiser. its actually easier than on my other guitars. I dont think action has much of a baring on it, either. But it cant hurt to lower it.

Glory and praise to Thee, Satan, on high,
Where Thou didst reign, in Hell where Thou dost lie,
Vanquished, silent, dreaming eternally.
Grant that my soul some day rest close to Thee
Under the Tree of Knowledge which shall spread
Its branches like a Temple overhead.
