new here with some questions

so i have a 7420 and a 1570 prestige. i was looking at the 1527 bk on music 123, and it says team j craft on the back of the neck. is that made in the same factory as a 1527? i thought the j craft guitars were custom only?
anyone shed some light on this?

You're getting J Craft and J Custom confused, methinks.

And yes, the RG1527 is made in the same factory as the RG1527 (forgive me for being an asshole :p)

"J-Custom" referrs to the guitars built at the Ibanez J-Custom Shop.

"J-Craft" is a new, high end-encompassing section of Ibanez. It's different from the J-Custom Shop.

Sort of like:
Chevrolet is a division of General Motors, and Corvette is a vehicle that Chevrolet builds.

The 'exclusive' or 'special' runs that GC, SA, Music123 and the other big chains purchase are indeed special orders. Those companies will order x-hundred or x-thousand of a certain model, and Ibanez will give them a special color/finish.
....OR.....
Ibanez will make x-hundred or x-thousand of a particular model, and buyers from the companies will say, "We'll take them all".....then the marketing guys will call it an 'exclusive' or 'Only for Sam Ash', etc.

so it seems to me its just a little sticker to make you feel like its a better guitar. so basically there is no difference.
thanks guys.

Well, yes and no. "Team J Craft" does in fact build the guitars, and the sticker indicates this. Whether or not it's a better guitar and thus it has a sticker, or it's got a sticker to make you feel like it's a better guitar really comes down to how you feel about that first statement.

"...and everything under the sun is in tune, but the sun is eclipsed by the moon."
