![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | hey dude, about the head stock issue, i would totally go for the blackmachine look. I know everyone here is saying it wont support it, but so what. This is a project guitar, IF the headstock actually does start to crack or does break, then you can epoxy it and it will be stronger at the obvious weak point than it was originally, if if it fails at a different spot, then you just epoxy it again. You might have to fix a broken head stock once or twice, but if you do, then it will be reinforced, i think its worth it for a killer looking headstock |

![]() | The finish would look a lot better if it didn't look a a 1st grader took their black crayon to that thing with a vengeance. Because as much as i would like to say it is the "i survived the blast" style, it is really more the "1st grader took a vengeance to it with his black crayon" style. It would look like more of a remnant of a blast if it wasn't just that location around the trem, also if you took some knives and *light* hammers to the top of it and beat the shit out of it a little it would give it a nice battered and weathered look. No serious force, but if that is what you are going for i think you could take it further. |

![]() ![]() | spiffy. if it werent for the floyd, i would want some thing like that just cuz it looks cool. i'd chop the head stock a bit, but no where near what was originally planned. enough to come across and take of the top of the T and about half of the D in LTD, but that is me. over all i think it looks incredibly bad ass though. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Hey guys... just an update to this project page, now that the guitar is finally complete. It was most of the way there for a while, but the wiring wasn't perfect, and I had the trem blocked because the jackarse I bought it from didn't send the screws/blocks for the nut. Plus I added some Ibby S-Classic style buttons to the tuners... what do you think? This thing plays unbelievably well. My big complaint is that the trem bar seems to be pretty loose in it's casing. Anyone know how to fix that? New (poorly recorded) sound clip with the setup you see pictured here... ideas for one of the leads in my bands new song: Music page of TMM08 - MP3 music page on SoundClick (track is titled "2nd lead for new song"... I'd post one of those player things here, but I'm not sure how to make it work.) |
