Ibanez has actually been pretty good about supporting lesser-known artists. If you look at their "artists" list, you'll see a lot of bands on the fringe, and some that appear completely unknown.
But at Ibanez, only the top-tier artists get access to the custom shop. But if you're happy with stock or slightly modified production instruments, Ibanez may suit you well. That said, Moser is a boutique builder and his stuff is in a totally different league. I find it's all just a bit too extreme for my tastes, but he does make some pretty badass instruments. |

I wonder, though, whether you'd be getting totally custom Mosers.
I didn't realize they had an "import" line. |

No. LTD do it. ESP do it. Schecter do it.
A lot of import instruments are inspected and set up in the US. |

I'd go with Moser. I'd take a custom over a modified production guitar any day, unless your band is actually big enough that you would get access to the LACS.

I'd go with Ibanez, even if it was only a discounted models + one modified instrument a year - everything he has said says to me taht he is happy with his Ibanez kit, so why change? Moser stuff doesn't really do much for me, too pointy. If I was offered that choice I'd go with Ibanez, and not because of blind fanboi-ism, but because they already do everything I want them to.

Well, it's all personal preference really. If I could only modify the instruments, I doubt Ibanez would make the modifications I'd want, ie neck through 7, OFR7. I don't even know if the LACS would put an OFR on a guitar...

totally go for moser.
if they are looking for creative new acts and want to endorse, go for it! free guitars are never bad. that doesn't mean that one day you won't be able to get ibanez, but go with what you can get. |
