Imagine if today was the first touch you had with a seven string Axe. That you have played six strings for a while and that you wanted to try something new. You are now looking at the "for sale" threads and you have to choose one. Which one will you go with?

I got interested in 7's mostly bye groups like unearth, meshuggah, lamb of god and dream theather. I know that there are plenty other groups to discover in this new heaven (or hell you choose

). I'd like you guys to help me a bit my first 7's guitar choice. As i said im probably going to buy it from this forum. So here's a list of what i want:

A good overall guitar between 300-500$ (case included if possible)
24 frets
the pickups dont have to be great ill change them anyway (active)
locking tremolo (if possible)
a bad ass look

I looked up a bit on esp, ibanez, schecter but i couldnt figure out what was best for me.

btw your community looks great and im ready to jump in!

Schecter omen extreme, it's the best guitar your going to get for under 500 dollars. And you don't need to change the pickups.

Yeah i have looked up at these two. Do you know how much are they going for used? The omen doesn't have a tremolo tho. Is it a pain in the ass to have one on a 7's?

Yes I am! Sorry for my english im trying to do my best. Its been a while since I've "typed" english.
That's a problem also.. i cannot buy on ebay.com (only ebay.ca) since i cant get the stuff shiped here. Im then limited on offers.

Lamb of God doesn't play seven strings.

I'd say try a Ibanez RG7321 just to see if you can get into 7's if you like it you can always upgrade to a better axe later down the road. You can find a 7321 for $200-$300 if you look in the right places.
