useless, but fun, poll

i've been harping at parker for a very long time, but they tell me no one else would be interested in a seven string fly.

i just want to know what you all think.

thanks

I don't know, because I've never played a Parker.

sorry, let me elaborate on the options: parker makes different series now.

their usa models are the ones everyone knows best for having a carbon composite exoskeleton and fiberglass fretboard. the imports are basically washburns with slightly flatter necks and funnier shapes. for a six string, the usa models run well over two grand, and the imports run around seven hundred or so (in $usd). i'm a huge fan of the six string american made flys. in my opinion, the playability is unmatched.

thanks and please be honest if you do vote.

I'm up for any high quality 7 with a high quality piezo.

A Fly Mojo 7 String in Trans Green Burst....I would get that rather than the 6 string.

However, if they made the markup like...another grand.

If the total = $3749

I would start contacting Conklin about a custom.

Jim Soloway is a jewel in the rough
Given the complex manufacturing that goes into a Parker, I can't imagine how it would be worth their while. The market for 7-strings is tiny and I believe it's getting even smaller. The new wave of inexpensive baritones has slaughtered the demand for low end 7-strings and even a lot of the high end jazz players have dropped their expensive 7-strings and gone back to 6.

I'd probably seriously look at a USA, but I'd bet if they do it, it'll be an import. I'm with Jim, I can't imagine enough of a market for the manufacturing costs...

That would be cool although Im not too crazy about Parkers. I do like the way they sound though. When I went to New Orleans back in the summer of '98, I saw a band and the guitarist had one. Sounded real good.

My old guitar teacher has had a couple of parkers. Nice guitars but hella pricey- Kind of ugly imo. I would look at a 7 if the price was reasonable (for them meaning import)

this space for rent
