![]() | Customizing GRX I'm thinking of super-customizing my GRX720, basically, I plan on using it as a base guitar, and swapping out every aspect of it (including neck, and maybe body). I have been meaning to get into the more technical aspect of customization, and I have a list of some of the tech I plan on buying (not all at once as I am a student with no job for the time being), if any body's interested. I've been thinking about doing this for a while now, and am wondering if anybody knows how practical this could be, who's done it, comments, and tips on how to do it. Thanks for any feedback on this. (looking at it, I think this is supposed to be in the gear area =\) ------------------- For the full .gif go here. We're writing still, but please, check it out. If anybody asks, I'll pass out copies of wip tracks. |

![]() | so your going to build a whole new guitar from the grx? Sounds like alot of work. Could be a good thing for you if you dont really have a job though. ![]() ========================= 'Mixolydian half gypsy nunchuck' is the scale of choice ![]() 私はここにあなたのすべてを殺す |

![]() | Yeah, I'm only a junior in High School, so it's something that would get me really involved in the design aspect of everything, and might help me get a completely original tone (I would think hand building a guitar would give you more freedom in how it plays). And yeah, I'd be slowly customizing a GRX until I get a completely different guitar (like EVH's $150-something dollar hand built, but I don't have the patience to hand wind pickups and stuff) |

![]() | It's not in getting another guitar, but in making a custom one. I'd much rather build one on an existing "frame" then just buying a production guitar. It gives me more options on a lot of things, like Scale, Body Shape, Tremolo System, ect. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Here's what you do. Buy a used 7420 or 7620 or 1527 and gradually swap components on the guitars, until everything is swapped. Then you'll have 2 completely new guitars! ![]() |

![]() | XD I dunno, being broke (and impatient) I think I'll sacrifice my current (cheap as hell) GRX and make it into a super-guitar. |
