![]() | Bottom strings sound weird Hi there, I've got a problem with the intonation of my Carvin DC727 - that means, with the B- and the E- strings - the other strings are fine. I'm using .011 gauge (these seven string ernie balls - guitar is tuned one whole step down) and I can't get my powerchords to sound right. The notes are always sharp and even when in tune, they sound crappy. I've adjusted the intonation of both strings and the string holding parts of my (licensed) floyd rose can't move any further back. What do you suggest? Maybe a different gauge for single strings? |

Are your strings properly stretched and everything? Do you think maybe the neck is bowed a little bit and your fretting out some of the notes on the low strings? It's a bit of a stretch, but not entirely impossible... Well, if you're intonation is sharp, then it's wrong. Maybe I'm just not understanding the situation correctly ![]() Last edited by JJ Rodriguez; 12-27-2007 at 02:37 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

![]() | Switch your springs in your floyd to after market anadized aluminum springs. They have a higher tension. I had a problem similar to this on a Ltd MF-207. Couldn't intonate it right. Switch to high tension springs and it helped solve the problem. Does it sound like shit everywhere or just in certain places? |
