Not a seven but I need some help. I bought this a while back w/ original case and it was a sweet little guitar for $250. But when it came time to sell off some gear this one was first. I'm currently in a f**k Guitar Center mood because they're all idiots. The guy offered me $125 and swore it was a Model 2. "He had one just like it" Now if my research serves me correctly Model 2s had Jackson FR copies and never had a pickguard. Most of the Model 3s are SSH but thats not saying much as strat pickguards are a dime a dozen!


Anyone confirm this and beat the sales rep at the local GC with me?

It's an 87 or so Model 3a. They had pickguards and the Kahler fulcrum trem. In '88, they went to no guard and the JT6. Sadly, $125 isn't that bad for this, from GC, as the no pickguard ones with the JT6 are worth a lot more. The guitar's worth more than that - $200-250 or so on evilBay - but GC's never going to give good value on something...

Nice guitar. I kind of like it. I used to own a Charvel back when I was playing drop tuned sixes in a death metal band in the early nineties. I miss it. It was black and had one humbucker, floyd and one knob with a maple fretboard.

They used to be pretty good here about offering prices. But now it's so loaded with crap, I think they got caught offering more than stuff was worth and had to change to rules before I could sell my stuff. Theres barely any floor to get to the Ibanez wall through all the Crates and other stuff that looks like someone grabbed it from a landfill to make some cash. The local pawn store seems pretty easy to rip a new one. They have a KKV from the $400 package in there for $1100 thinking it's the real deal. I might go in there and might walk out Bill Gates.
