I think you mean the Tailpiece (the Deep-C is the sliding block that allows you to go into Dive Only mode). The Pin-type tailpiece should rest flush against the bottom of your trem block.

Check to make sure that the Receiver (the part with the 2 thumbscrews) isn't bumping into the bottom of the trem cavity when you dive all the way. If it is, add the 1mm spacer and test it out. If it still touches, add the 2mm spacer.

If there's clearance, then give the clamping screw another 1/4 turn.
You can also add a little blue threadlocker to the clamping screw. That'll keep it from vibrating loose.

Should I have purchased the Clamp version instead?
About 95% of Floyd trem blocks have angled holes for the springs, and thus the angled pin on the Tremol-No.
If you have one of the rare trem blocks with vertical spring holes, then the Clamp-type would work better.
On a Floyd, you can use either....but I recommend the Pin-type.

"Thank YOU, Jim Day!"

Kevan, thank you so much for responding to my post.

I can tell you this, after multiple setups on this guitar over the last 11.5 years, the pin-holes for the springs are definitely vertical.

In retrospect, I kinda think that the clamp version should have been the choice made for this Gotoh Floyd. The Tremol-no sits up a little higher off the bottom of the rear trem cavity than some, partly I think due to the fact that I went with a traditionally thinner body thickness & compensations had to be made for the proper angle. The bottom of the sustain block has always been a hair's thickness away from rubbing up against the recessed trem-spring cover. Also, it doesn't appear as though the Gotoh's Pin holes are drilled directly in the center of the sustain block, which I think is also contributing to not allowing the pin to get a good "bite" on it when clamped down.

I don't have pics with the tremol-no installed yet, but here's one from when I had the tremsetter installed.

Tony- From the looks of the guitar, I'm guessing that you play a lot of jazz and maybe a little bit of country. Am I right?

If you say the spring holes are straight up (not angled), then the Clamp-type T-No would work better on that particular trem block.

Another option would be to change out trem blocks.
There are a bunch of aftermarket ones out there- from cheap-o zinc all the way up to $400 titanium.

Plenty of avenues here.
You get to choose.

I'd prefer not to exchange the block, this one's made of brass, very resonant. I may have to order the clamp piece from you. I'll PM you.

I'm actually a prog/player, and I also play on the worhip team at church, some rocking stuff too, sometimes I pull out the 7 string & lay down some serious crunch.

Thanks for the timely info. I appreciate your follow up.
