Win. Beautiful work, awesome/unique body design. That heartwood fretboard is amazing.

Back to the topic at hand.
Here is another axe I built several years ago. It has a sister which will come next. This was my first piezo bridge guitar. I ended up using the Fishman preamp. It sounded pretty good, but I like the GraphTech system better. The bridge I bought had the piezo saddles included. After using this bridge a few more times I decided that I don't like the way the saddles are made. It was a nice guitar, though. Very thin scalloped neck. You can also see the cases I used to get. They're made by the same company Conklin used to use. They were quite slick, but they disappeared a couple of years ago. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It may also be worth noting that many of these instruments started out as project for me to keep. As it turns out, when it comes time to pay the bills it becomes very difficult to keep all the guitars. Consequently, I no longer own any of the instruments I've yet posted. When it came down to it I always told myself "I can always build another one.." |

Here is it's sister. It is almost the same configuration of wood and electronics. This one does not have the piezo bridge. They are both alder bodies with maple tops. This one has a small tone chamber with the celtic knot-work acting in place of an "F" hole. They both sounded awesome, but this one was a bit more open and airy, a quality I enjoyed. Of all the guitars I've built and worked on I miss this one the most. I wish I could buy it back. Perhaps I'll build another some day.
