i am wondering how exactly did you made this led thingy, are this leds exactly the same diameter as the dot inlays? did you use some sort of cnc machine for this? the drill is perfect on such narrow aria there was no place for mistakes at all.
is this is the tuner you are talking about?
so is it always on? if not, how do you turn it on/off? i don't see the button on
your guitar
i hope i am not asking for too many secrets and you will answer my questions.
i am building my first guitar now days its almost done there was some crazy ideas but i was afraid to go more crazy then its already is like leds and inlays...
after all its my first build
I do admittedly outsource much of my inlay work (or at least the cutting of the pieces) to a shop with a CNC router, but all else is done by hand, including the LED routing and installation. As much as I want to share about the process can be seen in images on my web site. I do not recommend it for a first guitar. The Spectrum tuner is the one that I use for all of my setup work, but the one in the guitar has a smaller footprint (same circuit). It is activated by a push/pull pot that turns on the tuner and cuts the output of the instrument. It does not require the guitar to be plugged in.

The Blues Blender is complete. Steve REALLY wanted to take it home and rock on it for a while, so I'll have to get some better pics later, but for now enjoy!

Check out the pickholder..

That's pretty awesome I normally don't like gold hardware, but it fits really well with the color of the guitar. The pickup layout is different, but if it suits him, more power too him. Overall, that's some beautiful work!

It has a set Lindy Fralin Tele Blues Specials and a Fralin humbucker. They're run through a 4 position blade switch with the standard 3 Tele positions and the 4th being just the humbucker by itself. I think it actually sounds really good and it's pretty versatile. It's also got a varitone and a piezo bridge. I agree about the gold. I usually detest gold hardware, but it fits really well on this particular guitar. I'll get some nicer pics of it an a week or two for you guys. Personally I really dig the shape. PRS's are cool and all, but I think this adds a little modern edge to an otherwise predictable shape.
