I really can't say enough good things about it. Peter, would you PLEASE start a thread and post copious amounts of pics of your guitars? ![]() Noodles Division: American Metal without the suck. sales@kxkguitars.com "Somewhere along the way, the Straight Talk Express lost some wheels..." --Barack Obama on John McCain |

![]() | I don't hate alder, it's just that it sounds pretty neutral to me. I think I prefer some other woods and/or combos to alder just because of this. Maybe it's because it's so commonly used that makes me feel this way about it. For instance, mahogany for the most part is going to sound fat, thick, and warm, ash is going to have a really nice spank, maple is going to brighten up a sound, etc. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Here's the Warmoth alder 7 I'm working on: ![]() ![]() It's gotten too humid to do any more finishing right now. Those pictures, man - now I'm jonesing for a scalloped 24-fret seven-string neck. My main six has a scalloped board. It would work GREAT on a seven-string neck - all that room for bending - but Ibanez & Warmoth necks are too thin to be safe for scalloping, and I don't have the facilities to make a neck from scratch. |

My first seven was scalloped. 26" scale 24 fret neck-thru. That was was so much fun to play. The extra half inch was enough to tighten up the tone of the "B" without vastly altering the feel of the guitar. It played like a dream. It had ash wings though and not alder. I think I would have preferred alder. Don't worry. I'll post a pic or two soon. | |
