Ltd M-207 Floyd Rose String Blocks

Hello eyeryone,

I'm kinda new, and I love this place.

Here's the scoop:
I bought a used M-207 on ebay for $240, when I got the guitar, two of the string blocks were missing from the floyd

I work at a music store, and we stock some floyd rose parts, but none seem to fit.

Question: Do I have to call ESP and get them to ship me the right block, or do i have file down the ones that my shop carry?
The ones that my store carry are 1988BLOCK and 1996BLOCK. they are two wide and too short.

HELP!

My suggestion if you REALLY want to make the guitar a lot nicer: replace that POS floyd with an OFR. Trust me, I had a 307 and it is one of THE worst licensed pieces of shit I have ever used. The fine tuners are stuff as fuck. I didn't have the trem arm for it so I can't speak for its stability, but I don't imagine it's that great. If you don't want to drop that much money replacing the floyd, try giving guitarpartsdepot.com an e-mail or call. They carry replacement parts for ESP/LTD guitars. I looked through their store and didn't see just the block, but maybe they can do something for you.

I was thinking of just buying new saddles from GPD, off their Ltd genuine parts page. but again I know every company makes their floyds different. so I don't know if the new saddles will even fit. Or saddles universal?

There's different heights to make up the radius of your fretboard. If you're going to replace all the saddles, I'd just go get graphtec ones. Are you talking about replacing all the saddles or just the ones missing the block? I would recommend replacing all, just so it's consistent, I don't think it would make any significant difference, I'm just anal like that But like I say, if you're going to replace them all, might as well upgrade. But to me it would be worth it replacing the entire floyd, because if you didn't then you'd end up paying for upgraded saddles, but still on a shitty floyd.

I wanted a chrome floyd. But wanted to put chrome saddles and fine tuners on my black floyd to give it like a reverse of the tremolo steve vai has on the universe, which I dig. plus I dont have THAT type of cash for an OFR. But working at a music store does have it's advantages

Well, I believe OFR 7's are $180 or so for chrome, black are $190 I believe. All GPD has are gold ones, which are the most expensive I think. Saddles are going to run you at least $10 a pop for the LTD ones, which wouldn't really serve a purpose as far as upgrading goes, except for aesthetics, and of course getting the 2 locking blocks. Sure it's more expensive, but it would definitely be more worth it. How are the fine tuners on your floyd? are they stiff at all? If you're happy with it then maybe you're not that worried about it.

so far the FT are fine the guitar has a fair amount of rust because of the douchebag that shipped didn't take care of it.
Where can I get a hold of a chrome OFR or even a LFR?

Well, the only thing with getting a licensed floyd is if it will be compatible with your trem route. I don't even know if the 207's route is compatible either for an OFR for that matter, so I may be arguing for a completely useless option for you One thing you could do is measure the spacing between the trem posts, that will tell you if at least that is compatible. If it is, since the trem is styled like an OFR, I believe it SHOULD fit, but I'm not %100 sure. As to where to get a chrome one, I'm kind of unsure of that. Guitar parts depot used to stock all 3 colours, but lately they either don't have any of them, or they just have 1.

the more I think about it the more I want to buy a whole new system.

What is the correct spacing for an OFR?

I'm thinking of just going with a newer licensed just in chrome, but I saw an OFR for $180 on ebay.

well, my boss/guitar tech, is a wizard with floyds, and he's taking a look at it to see if he can make it fly

also in case nobody noticed, I'm a drummer by trait that started playing guitar and I am just starting to learn a 7 string.

You're not learning a 7 string, you're learning guitar The mechanics are exactly the same, you just have one extra low string, that you can choose to ignore if you don't have a reason to use it at the moment. If you already have a grasp of playing on a 6 string, and you remember this, you'll be perfectly fine. And funny enough, I'm the exact inverse of you, I'm a guitar player who's trying to pick up drums
