congrats, it seems a bit used, but if its playing ok i wouldnt worry.
nothing some tlc and a good setup couldnt fix. clean it really well, oil the fretboard etc. then take it in to a shop, get it recrowned and set up. shouldnt cost much

You should be able to get steel wool from a big hardware store or some antique / hand crafted furniture stores. I think it's used in french polishing and other stuff like that but don't quote me. Be sure to get #0000 grade, it is the finest grade and wont scratch anything. |

As mentioned,
just take it in to your tech and have a complete setup and fret leveling done. Then she'll be just fine. Oh, and congrats! Welcome to the 7 string Club and the Schecter Club. |

About the fret noise.
Check the trussrod. If that doesn't help; Hold down the low B at the 3rd fret, check if the string has clearance all the way to the nut. If not the nut might be small or worn out, and you should get a new one. |

Thanks everyone!
The low B seems to have clearance, it doesn't hit the first fret or anything when I fret at the 3rd. |

Awesome. I used to have one of those, I loved the way it played.

I'd send that thing back., you payed for new, so unless that thing has some godlike tone that you think warrants it. It's pretty bad shape IMO, definitely call them out on that.
