Stengah_2012 has a spectacular aura about
9-52 set of DRs tuned to A standard, Dunlop Jazz III picks.

I might switch to a 54 or 56 or the low A, however.

Anything less than a 68 on the low string should be outlawed.
I wish i tried that on my hellraiser instead of selling it.

Bobo will become famous soon enough
I've switched back and forth, but stick with the smaller guage. I like 9's for standard tuning on a 6. I realize what guys say about the added chunk of a thicker string, but I don't think it's always needed. I'm using a Elixer 52 for a low B and 25.5" because they didn't have a 54....but I think the 56 is really what I need.

I just switched to the Elixer's (it's fooking epic!), but I'm kinda bummed about about their single string selections for the Nanowebs. Looks like it's just 52, 56, then all the way up to 68

I might Elysian, I might. But, I like the attack lighter strings provide, and I think that the tone they provide is advantageous for my tuning and playing style.

A few years ago I went on a blues binge, and strung my Strat with 11-52s tuned to E standard for a while when I didn't play metal. I developed a heavy attack, really digging into the strings. It sounded great for the blues, but now that I'm back into metal, it slows my picking technique down. I've had to change my playing style again to a much lighter touch, which allows me to use strings that are incredibly light for the tuning I use.

Either way, I'm gonna slap a set of heavier strings (11-70) on my seven to see if I like it. I may or may not, but it won't hurt to try.

Prometheus is a jewel in the rough
Whoa! Man, this is the first thread I made that someone felt the need to bump. Plus, 12 pages? ROCK ON :P

Funny, I actually bumped my own gauges back up to 10-46, with either a low 59 or a 60, in Bb. The 9-56 just proved a bit too light in the long run, I suspect.
