What woods were each RG7--- made from?

thinking about getting m’self a body to screw up / practice modding on for the bevelled creature that i plan on using (…to dominate the universe and enforce mandatory love of technical death metal & the two ronnies).

can someone in the know please let me know what (if any) the differences were in woods used between the RG7620, 7621, 7640 etc.?

the three you listed are all basswood bodies with maple necks and rosewood fingerboards. some have a darker stripe in the neck, i believe it's bubinga.

All basswood. The RG7620 neck is all maple neck while the the RG7420 neck is maple/bubinga/maple. However, necks were swapped between the models during production. All were hand profiled in the FujiGen factory which is why they all feel so awesome.

The only guitar of that era with anything different was the S7420 which is mahogany. Some feature a flamed maple veneer too.

ok, cool.

were there ever any differences in the bodies and their sizes? i could swear i played an RG7321 back in the day and it felt larger than my 7620, but then i hadn’t really played any 7s much back then.

Not to my knowledge - I'm pretty sure they are all the same size.

The dimensions could have been skewed I suppose in the move to Indonesia.

I forgot to add, the RG7321's meck is a 5 piece laminate of Maple and Walnut. Or maybe Wenge. I forget.

Do you mean the frets or the neck? Also, is this only the RG7s or all the stuff that came out of Fujigen?

What are you asking? I'm pretty sure all the guitars that came out of FujiGen had hand profiled necks.

all j- customs that I know of either have mahogany bodies with maple tops of varying thickness or alder bodies (in the case of the RG8327)

The K7 is also mahogany-bodied (as is the APEX-1 idk about the APEX-2)

Oh right, I was just asking if it was the necks or the frets that were hand profiled.
