For 800 euros? That's pretty respectable. Provided it's in excellent playing shape, the fact the neck pickup route looks a little uneven on the treble side isn't a major hinderance for a player, and that'd be a good price even stateside.

They're great guitars, I used to own one myself. If you like mahogany and want a piezo, do it.

I'd say go for it, that's a good price, I paid 700£ for mine several years ago, and that was before loads of people relaised they actually wanted one!

Alright guys, I'm starting to get tempted here and I think I can already predict how this is gonna turn out but I'll need all your "7-string freak knowledge" to be 100% convinced.

I've always loved 2027's but I was worried that the EMG's routing actually cancels the whole rarity factor. She's not an original Ibanez anymore but just another custom axe out there, right?
Besides I haven't been playing that much Metal lately (flame away); and I'm not sure how much I'll like these pips. Are they good for anything else? I play mainly instrumental rock and prog but I want something with "clean cleans", if you know what I'm talking about.
On top of all that, I just bought an RG J-Custom and I'm afraid she might be just too similar to her tonewise (Mahogany body, rosewood fretboard, high-output pips...).
Not to mention my mum is gonna go nuts when she sees yet another electric guitar in my collection. I should be playing classical more...

Anyway I'm already asking for back of headstock, pips, bridge and electronics pictures and info about shipping costs so I guess I'm taking this one.

Thanks for the help everyone!

Honestly, who cares if it's modded? That is a guitar that is probably never going to be collectable and go up in value, and besides, you buy them to play, right?

As for the pickups, I know exactly how you feel. I play a lot of metal, but I still don't like EMG's. Check out this thread that I started about switching from EMG's to passives.

play classical on your electric :p

from what i've heard, cleans on active pickups are actually cleaner than from passive ones.

I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate.
We'll cross the streams.

...which makes her basically a one-off and thus more rare...?

Frankly, coming from a guy who's owned his share of rare guitars over the year, screw the collectability - it's a gutiar, not an investment. If you'll enjoy playing it, buy it. If you want an investment, I suggest the stock market.
