Atomic_gerbil is a jewel in the rough
How often do you switch guitars?

Loomis GAS has made me realize how much I go through guitars.

for the record, here has been my guitar list:

Feb 05: Squire
Dec 06: White RG
June 06: First HR (Lemon, sold)
July 06: Black RG (7 Strings brought me in again, sold this one)
Sep 06: 2nd Hellraiser (The one i currently have)
Dec 07: Loomis?

So as you can see, I have been on and off with my past 3 guitars about 2 months at a time. I still have my white RG and my 2nd Hellraiser.

Edit: this is assuming you don't like it or have other GAS

It totally and completely depends on the guitar

I mean I've had stuff that I've only kept for a month, then there are other things like the KxK I just got that I'll never sell

Incoming Pimptastic Purple KxK Singlecut of Doom
Orange 2x12 - Damn am I colorful

In general, I'd buy because I plan to keep it, so for the most part, never.

Although, buying something to fix and sell for a profit is something that I have no problem considering, and could become a viable source of income if I so choose...

My list:
Washburn X8 Purchased 2 or 3 (can't remember which) years ago

RG1527 Aug 06

Washburn gave to a friend about 8 (?) months ago

Purchased Squire Strat 7 Aug 07

You've got your head down
You've got your eyes closed
You look so pitiful now

Your body encrusted with ash
Breath heavy with toxins
Hair singed and matted
Clothes frayed and burnt

You are left with nothing

I take purchases very seriously and find it hard to let go of guitars.

I switch as often as I can afford it, which is about every second year.

It takes a severe financial crisis for me to part with my gear.
