Usually for about a month or two. I've owned a Schecter C-1 Elite (white), an Ibanez RG 350MDXBK and an Ibanez RG 7321 all for about a month or two before I sold them. They all went to fellow members here too.

I've been playing for about 4 years, and in the last few, I've been getting more and more.

Winter '03 - Picked up Squier Strat that I put down when I was 9
June '03 - Bought Squier S73, it was really a hell of a guitar.

Years pass...

June '06 - Bought Gibson Explorer
August '06 - Bought Jackson DK2M (sold Oct '07)
June '07 - Bought Carvin V3 (not a guitar but worth mentioning )
Oct '07 - Bought used Jackson USA Soloist

Next month.... buying Schecter C7 Hellraiser or waiting for Ibanez mystery meat.

I just personally don't see the point in keeping a guitar if it no longer suits my needs. I buy guitars because I love how they are, not just on whim. But my taste changes with time and I don't see the point in holding onto one when I want another more. I'm a minimalist by nature, I guess. I'd like to get other 7s (007 Blackjack, C7 BCH Hellraiser, Loomis, and LTD SC607b eventually), but I won't say that if I get them that I'll keep them forever, because for all I know I swear by baritone 7 string bastardized superstrats, but I may wake up one day and hear a tele and a LP calling my name. I also don't normally buy new unless I get a hell of a deal, so I normally break even or make a profit off of my sales.

There's a hole in the world like a great black pit
And it's filled with people who are filled with shit
And the vermin of the world inhabit it
But not for long ...

I've had the same seven guitars for three years now. I may add a couple, but I don't see any of my current stable leaving, since the shortest time owning any of them is over three years, and I've owned one of them for nearly twenty years.

Division - American metal that doesn't suck. Much. Even on MySpace, and Soundclick, too.

Amps and stuff I go through pretty quickly, but guitars I'm a bit pickier these days. I used to go through them like water when I was younger up until about a year ago when I got my first Thorn. Ever since then I have been hanging on to certain guitars. Three I will never let go of are my two Thorns and my PRS Singlecut SE (present from my girl ). I always seem to have an extra spot or two that rotates from time to time but I think once I get my 7's I'll be good.
