Who thinks...

who thinks Ibanez should make a 24 fret guitar with the zr trem? Like an rg or a 24 fret s. If enough people think so we should all email ibanez seperately to try and get them to make one.

when is this website going to get like 1/18th of the attention from ibanez that jemsite does? never? ok.

Im with you dude, but you MIGHT just be better off going over to jemsite and raising discussion there. Tak Hosono is a fairly regular poster over there, as far as major shop workers go, and he takes in alot of what people say, especially when it isnt just bitching for maple fretboards and vibrant 80s rg paintjobs

oh jemsite is way obnoxious. i was over there for a while, but i couldnt handle all the jemheads.
i got in an arguement with a guy once about adding allenwrench holders to headstocks, and this guy was seriously really angry at me about doing that to a cheap guitar and how could i destroy it like that

I think if they make the Xiphos 7 it should either have a ZR7 or an Edge Pro7. That would be cool. I would definately buy one in blue green chameleon....

NO they shouldn't. Can you imagine how absolutely ridiculous the XPT would look with a ZR on it?

The ZR trem is a piece of technology used only for the S series guitars. Its kept for that model to help differentiate the S-series from the RG's a bit further and help draw people to one or the other and give them choice. If they stop cross breeding, they lose the whole reason they put it on the S only in the first place.

Also, before anyone starts screaming, I prefer the S-series with the Edge's too, so don't go saying "well, I don't like the ZR on the S..."

What? Why? What ill effect does a wrench holder have on the headstock?

I mean, half of them arn't even screwed on?

Even Steve Vai himself has one on the back of EVO.......

Are you honestly telling me you frequently use your high E flat and E notes? Often? I find that hard to believe. :p

Make a sacrifice - one or the other, or buy the ZR as a spare and have someone fit it for you.

Personally, I use them as reference points. When I play high on my strat I get slightly confused due to not seeing them, since they've been only all the other guitars I've had.

Guess what?

I have a sneakin' suspicion that there will be a 24 fret Ibanez S series with a ZR trem coming out this NAMM...

And you can take that to the bank.

You can give me some e-rep in January.

Ocht...so?

Single pickup design then? And is it a 6 or a 7? And what makes you so certain?

They'd be giving people more choice if they used the ZR instead of the Edge Pro in the first place.

I still think many people would buy Sabres. A 22 fret mohagany guitar is completely different from a 24 fret basswood. Just my 2 cents.

And as far as the 24 fret S, I see a Herman Li sig over the horizon.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...1/df/page4.jpg

I remember he stated in an interview that it's not just a custom, its a prototype for a sig model.

How would they be giving people more choice if they replaced the ZR with the Edge Pro? Are we talking about the Xiphos or the RG here?

Wait....

They'd be giving more choice if they offered the ZR on more than just the S. There ya go. I would like to see at least one or two RG's with the ZR. I'm really hoping for a Xiphos with a ZR7.

I personally think they should just use the ZR, I cant stand the EP. But if they did that, they'd negate the whole choice thing.

Well, heads up, the Xiphos will be fixed bridge.

I think the old Edge is better than the ZR, but that the ZR and the EP are as crap as each other. That said, EP > any other production trem around except the Takeuchi trem.

I don't agree with you on RG's with ZR's, but I think we'll just agree to disagree haha.

Also, Herman Li doesn't seem big enough to warrant a sig model as his band has kind of disappeared off the radar of late. That said, an S with 24 frets would shut most of the whingers up on this site for three minutes - before they all started crying about ebony boards, body woods, different pickups, the inlays, the fingerboard and headstock finish...

I hate guitarists.
