Very, very true. My black 7620 sounded kind of thin...but i put a BC in it and it fulled up a lot...but my friend has a 7620 and it's more full sounding with the stocks in it...but, equally the same now with my Blaze customs...of course the tone is different all around now.

Ok. So take it from the construction quality (fretwork, finish, woodpiece selection, neck/body fit, fretboard woodgrain, 3 pcs laminate neck construction) the 1527 is a step higher. special attention is taken for such details on the 1527. It has rounded fretboard edge and a somewhat beefy feel that non MIJprestige models dont have. For the trem, aside the locking post feature, there is NOTHING that mechanically enhances the functionnality/quality of the LoPro vs EdgePro. whats more, EdgePro has the same tremplate, same knife edges, same trem holder, same springblock than the Lopro BUT, EdgePro has built in string holder clamp and hardened string saddle inserts. Also, both model pieces are hardened and tempered to the same Rockwell hardness scale.

Cheers

Ex.

No Pain, No gain.

Exhale, I know you're looking for a reason to think your guitar is superior. That's ok. I understand the psychology behind that. But the woods and build are identical to the 7620. They're not better and no one has said they are. They're identical. The only differences are the pickups, the bridge, and the "prestige" logo.

i wouldn't say the details are any better on a 1527...as they were probably made in the same factory (someone correct me if i'm wrong)....or at least by the same 'standards' of quality. But, it sounds better and more confident to say "i have a prestige model" vs a standard 7620. But, i could be wrong...my 7620 has great everything and i've played a 1570 and it didn't seem more 'better quality' in any way shape or form.

The Edgepro does look badass...but the rigidness of the lo pro is more appealing to me...psychologically more 'metal'

dont think I am in a kind of penis size competition, and I know what is a good instrument. Ibanez guitars are almost identical in base materials (made in the same factory too, Fugigen I think) and actually there is alot of marketing strategies around the "prestige" Tag. So Desert is right. My main complaint is about the bridge. I am just saying that aside the feel factor many people have which is in favor of the older model, nothing justifies its superiority. and I am speaking from a strict mechanical desing here (its my field of work). but then again, I think that with quality pickups they are both killer 1527 still has a 3pcs neck

That's cool. I'd like to see that. I've seen it on a few of the stop-tailpiece models (7321?). I must say, though, I love the bubinga strip on the back of the 7620. I have 3 guitars now with that strip on the back of the neck.

Oh, and Exhale, I mean no harm bud. Everyone has different opinions, and if your guitar makes you happy, don't worry about trying to compare it to others or think it's better/worse than others. For example, my S7 that I'm happy with is no better or worse than Drew's UV7PWH that he's happy with, it's just different. They're both great guitars, as is your RG1527

To be honest, without hijacking the thread, i'd say the UV7PWH whips.

You won't need that anymore. Not anymore. It's on sale at your fuckin dollar store.
