Trem help needed!

Ok so I have a 1527 ive had it for 2-3 months and ever since i changed the origional strings everytime i bend or use the trem it goes out of tune. The new strings are 10's the origionals were 9's the problem has been happenning for like a week so its not the new strings. could it be the way i restrung it i didnt even wrap the strings around the tunning pegs once. but this shouldnt really be a problem because of the locking nut. any suggestions

Did you stretch the strings properly when you put them on? Letting the guitar sit, or playing it, will not stretch the strings out. I would get at least 1-2 wraps around the tuner, so you can actually stretch the strings. Having no wraps does not eliminate the stretching issue.

Did you reset the trem's angle when you went to the larger gauge? An out of balance floyd can go out of tune.

Is it sticking? If you push the bar down, and get the guitar in tune, does it stay in tune after dives, but go sharp after pull-ups? This would be the knife edges being dull, or the studs having a bur or flat spot.

Lots of set-up and restringing info for Ibanez guitars here:

rub a pencil tip on the string where it goes to the nut. sometimes, with larger gauge strings, the nut has a touch of slippage. the graphite in the pencil helps that return to zero

I fail to see how this will make any difference in a locking nut where the string is not supposed to move at all.

Graphite works on regular nuts, to lubricate it so the strings don't hang up.

teflon lube on the tremposts, like the almighty Kevan suggests?

Glory and praise to Thee, Satan, on high,
Where Thou didst reign, in Hell where Thou dost lie,
Vanquished, silent, dreaming eternally.
Grant that my soul some day rest close to Thee
Under the Tree of Knowledge which shall spread
Its branches like a Temple overhead.

when using bigger strings with a floyd locknut, sometimes the difference between the 2 strings under a single nut (3 in the middle nut of a 7), is enough such that the smaller string can move just a little. not much, but enough to take your string slightly out of tune. it will slip in just a little, and not back out, or out but not back in, and the graphite fixes that.
Its not a huge help, but it fixed my rg6

are the pads on the lock nut facing the right direction. The pad comes to a peak which needs to run the same direction as the strings..

I never had that issue with my RG7620, even with the center clamp, nor have I ever had it happen with any of the other double-locking guitars I've owned.

Now, I've seen loose locking nuts(where it attaches to the neck) affect tuning stability, but in my experience it's usually the knife edges/posts, or the strings not being stretched properly. Especially when it's the whole guitar going out of tune.

yeah, one string will go cause of the nut (its uncommon, but it happens) but not the whole guitar.
