Those videos were really interesting. I didn't know Kahler had those problems with string bending. For me that'd be the deal breaker to not get a Kahler since I bend like a muthahfuckah when I'm soloing.

Yeah I found the same thing. Also, the main place the FR lost out on was the maintenance parts like string changes. From the playability/stability side of things it destroyed the kahler.

I think a lot of it had to do with the Kahler style nut on the 80's guitars, which they don't do anymore. the string used to get stuck in the regular nut but its greatly reduced by just using the floyd nut. Its not that bad either, I've tried a kahler trem that was missing a string and it stayed in tune perfectly, something you can't do with a floyd or a ZR for very long.

I'm assuming he's going to want to mass produce these rack pies, and why not? I love racks, I love pies, so put them together and you have pie covered titties. - JJ

Kahler really needs to make their own video demonstrating that bending is no longer an issue.

Josh from Kahler has posted that this is a setup issue but I think a video demonstration would be much more effective.

The guy in the video, his Kahler had a Floyd rose locking nut on it.

Glory and praise to Thee, Satan, on high,
Where Thou didst reign, in Hell where Thou dost lie,
Vanquished, silent, dreaming eternally.
Grant that my soul some day rest close to Thee
Under the Tree of Knowledge which shall spread
Its branches like a Temple overhead.

I decided to use the Kahler Hybrid (7327) on my latest build, which I hope to complete tonight, and post comments tomorrow. I haven't seen the videos, but it sounds like the strings are binding in the nut, and that is causing the pitch problems. I'm using locking tuners, slipstone nut and a zero fret, so, hopefully, string binding won't be an issue.

More info tomorrow...

Like Metal Ken said, the dude in the video who had the string bending issue had a Floyd nut on the guitar. And I don't know if it's a setup issue as that guy seemed to know his shit so you think if it was anything apparent he would take care of it.

True.

Without having seen the video, I should not have commented. Plus, this has all probably been discussed in the other thread.

...guess I'll find out for myself tonight....

These were good videos, but if you remove all the stupid things he tested (Fluttering?! Seriously...) They came out damn near even (Khaler one behind in the string bending part). I like the feel of Khaler. I was going to give up on trems, because I've never had a good relationship with my FR's, but the Khaler seems to fix all the things I hated about a FR.

I've never heard of the ZR, i'll have to check it out.
