Too bad he's not making 7's or 9's anymore. Todd (definitely cool via email), is on a bit of a hiatus. No clue about the specifics -- His wife is answering his email.

It can be a huge grind. It's also tough balancing what you want to make, versus what your customers want, and anything you make for yourself is like taking away from your own income. Read his site. We'll see what he comes-up with when he comes back.

It doesn't affect the "in tuneness", nor do it make any difference whether it's a multi-scale guitar or not. What is does is minimize cross-talk between the strings. You should get individual strings to ring out longer, and fewer sympathetic vibrations.

One of his 9-string Bass-Guitar (with MIDI) Hybrids was on eBay for $2300. I would have bought it in an instant, if I had the cash. It didn't sell, I'll see If I can find the buyer, you might want to drop him a note ...

The Ultimate Question: What string gauge is needed for 18.84# of tension when tuned to E2 on a 27" scale guitar?

Huge frets, flat fretboard, fanned frets =

Am I fucking insane for hating all these quilt tops though? I absolutely hate the way quilted maple looks, but I love flamed maple.
