![]() | Pick-up advice and Bridge Routing Advice Needed Howdo! I'm currently playing an RG7321 (my first 7 string, me only being 16 an' all), but now I've got me a paid job, my guitars mean everything, and I wanna mod this thing, i was just wondering, what pick-ups do you guys recommend for that really low brutal sound, but also amazing lead stuff? I need neck and bridge pick-ups, also, is there and way AT ALL that the bridge on this thing can be removed and the body routed to have a Floyd Rose dropped into it, i know buying an RG1527 would be better, but this thing is my baby, only like 2 other people in my 25,000 person town play 7 stringers, everyone looks at me everytime I mention it in awe. Just wondering if you guys can help with any of those queries please, cheers a bunch ![]() 6 Strings Are For Pussies! Only The REAL Men Play 7 Strings! ![]() ![]() | Dimarzio blaze had good crunch and highs... ive heard the Dimarzio Evolution 7 was good (ive also heard you get tons of feedback) but i know the Blaze is a good soild pickup |

![]() | Thanks guys, never even considered Lundgren pups, saying that, I though I was a Meshuggah fan, clearly not I shall do a bit of research on the pups suggested, big DiMarzio fan, but I also found some SD Invaders (which I know is one of the Schecter Synyster Gates Guitars, one of my fave guitar players) which would be quite interesting. But as long as it's heavy and nice for leads, i'm not too fussed. And one other thing, do you guys know of anywhere in the UK to get body routing done? Cheersp.s. 2 Replies in 2 Mins, though it was popular Cheers |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Members are quick, this is a great forum ![]() Any luthier can do that for you or any other skilled person ![]() I personally don't like SD Invaders but those can be good in 7321, they suck in mahogany ![]() From Di MArzio - Blaze for sure ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | welcome to the forumas for the PUs: i wouldn't invest too much in pickups for a 7321 (lungren's cost about 200$ a piece), so a pair would cost you more than your guitar My suggestion would be getting a used Dimarzio D-Activator 7 or X2N 7 for bridge (about 50-60$) and another D-Activator or maybe an Air-Norton 7 for neck. Duncan PUs will recquire you to either cut the magnet poles or routing on your guitar to make 'em fit.as for the floyd rose: leave it. I've never heard about anybody routing a hard-tail ibby to fit a floyd rose and i don't think it would be worth it... you would be better off saving that money for a second guitar ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | if you get DiMarzio's you won't need to do any routing of your guitar. they'll drop right in. i've got a Blaze Custom / Air Norton 7 in my RG7621, and an Evo7 / Blaze Neck in my RG7620. the Evo7 is more scooped than the Blaze Custom, and the Blaze Neck is more scooped than the Air Norton. so, my RG7620 is more scooped than my RG7621 ![]() I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways, we could reverse the particle flow through the gate. We'll cross the streams. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Keep the guitar fixed -its pointless to get it routed for a floyd rose as it would have to be done a professional. Also you would need to modify your neck with a locking nut or maybe locking tuners. All in all - I would say get dimarzio Evo/blaze neck combo. Good Luck. |

It's going to be a massive pain getting a Floyd into it correctly. It'd probably be much better to just get a 2nd guitar with a floyd if that's what you're after. Check out 2nd hand stuff if cash is a problem. | |
