Thanked 1 Time in 1 Post
![]() | Hi guys.. this is my first post.. Was wondering about the tremelo use of the JP7.. does it allow extensive whammy bar use like the kahler and the Floyd rose? It does not come with a locking nut.. but they use Schaller M6-IND locking. Does this allow us to 'torment' it (like Vai). Can we achieve squeals ( Dimebag Darrelesque!! kind) with this tremelo..one more thing.. compared to the lo-pro/edge how does this fare.. Keep rocking on bro!! ![]() |

Hey bro, nice to have you around! Welcome aboard! I don't actually own a JP7, but I'm a huge Dream Theater fan and I have several DVD's of them live where Petrucci is using the JP7 and the six version. If it's the same system as the six string version, it should work for at least the Dimebag squeals (Under A Glass Moon has one at the end of a solo). I'm not sure about major Vai-esque whammy abuse, though. Hope I could help, and welcome again! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I've owned the EBMM JP 6-string and the trem is very stable. It won't handle quite as much abuse as a Floyd - but it's damn close! "Do be do be do" - Frank Sinatra |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | No it wont be able to handle that abuse. It works great, though! And if you don't divebomb all the time it stays in tune pretty damn well! I use it a lot for fierce vibratos. But I don't really abuse it. "Guys, you gotta stop it with all these threads. ![]() ![]() | I'm a massive dimebag squealer, and granted, it doesn't hold that particular technique as good as a Floyd, but it can certainly handle it quite well, and it's extremely stable, and has quite a range to it. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | not to hijack or anything, but what do the jpm6 and jpm7 owners think about the stiffness of hte trem as compared to floyds? i tried one out in guitar center (nobody stole the trem arm yet!) and it was kind of stiff. can it be set up to be looser? |
