It is way stiffer than a Kahler trem (and the trem on the Ibanez S series 7). About the same I think as the RG I had. There is not a problem with these going out of tune though.

But there is a problem with their tone - it's paper thin, no balls. I cannot get a decent metal tone out of this, no matter what gauge string, no matter what pickup is in it (I've had 3 different ones, all Dimarzio, cuz that's what fits it, including the X2n). Apparantly they are making some changes to the design of the new model JP7 (different wood) which might help.

I have no problem at all getting an absolutely crushing tone out of my original JP7 (pre-DS7).
