RG1527 Neck Pocket Crack

Is it uncommon for an RG1527 to have a very slight finish crack on the low B side of the neck pocket?

I've heard that this is pretty common on Ibanez guitars and nothing to worry about as it's only a crack in the paint and not in the wood. Is this right?

Mine just arrived from Japan (I'll make another thread about that after my exams) and it's only a very slight crack I just wanted to make sure it's no cause for concern.

I don't know about the newer guitars- but the older ibanez guitars are notorious for the neck pocket crack.

Yeah, all my guitars have neck joint finish cracks. Can't seem to get away from them.

Actually, my newly acquired 7321 doesn't have one....yet.

Cheers, I was pretty sure about the older ones, but my RG is brand new...

Not much I can do about it now I guess lol

Yeah, its pretty normal. Until you can start to see some wood under that finish, you have no need to worry. My old RG has it too!

Can't say..... I had my rg1527rb since october 2006 and no cracks whatsoever . I guess it deppends how you pick up your Guitar .... NEVER pick it up just by the neck . That might be the answer to your question .

My UV is 17 years old and doesnt have one..

My 540 saber has it also ....but I sort'a mistreated her a bit in the 80's ....I was young & didn't know better ....
