Picks

I searched, so don't even tell me this exists somewhere else and even if it does, this one is different kind of.

I, for one, love thin picks. I feel like I have a lot of control with them. I use light picks regardless of how many strings a guitar has or how high of gauge the strings are, but I was curious as to how you guys feel. I've talked to one or two people who tell me that I should be using mediums or heavies because it'll make the low B more pronounced and stuff, but it sounds like nonsense to me. I've been wrong before though. So basically I guess my question is do you guys use different picks depending on different guitars or gauges or whatever?

You've got to tame the devil and make it yours.

Soldierkahn got me hooked onto Dunlop Jazz IIIs. They're so fucking comfortable and really force you to tighten your playing.

7StringofAblicK-This is my footswitch. it changes channels on my amp - just like on a television, but I only have four channels.

thin picks are cool, because they keep you from hitting your strings too hard. but, i like the JazzIII's, because you can both pick soft AND hard, when you want to.

I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate.
We'll cross the streams.

Yeah, I use slightly different picks from guitar to guitar. On my Ab 7, I use a .73 Ultex, but on my C tuned 7, I like to use a .80 triangle uratex "Cool" pick. I kind of like my juststrings.com pick and my Simpsons picks for my acoustic, though it usually just ends up being whichever pick is within reach.

depends on my mood.

if i'm in a soft and soothing sort of mood, i use dunlop nylon .60s.
they're great for slowly raking across chords, and making subtle changes in dynamics.

for general metal playing, i use dunlop nylon .73s.
they're just a comfortable (for me), all-around pick that i use for heavier and/or lighter styles of metal.

if i'm in a "play one powerchord and djent until your fingers bleed" sort of mood, i use dunlop nylon 1s.

i like dunlops.

I'm typing this on my knees with my butt in the air. -Drew

I use light picks too. I can feel the strings more.

I use either the Dunlop Tortex yellows (.73) or the Orange ones(.60)
