I can imagine that this topic must of been played out on this site. I only know of a few good 7 string bands. Nevermore, Dream theater (some), Sun caged. Who else? I need more!

In all seriousness, I think the first Orgy CD was awesome and the second Orgy CD was even better. (I only heard a little of the third album and didn't particularly care for it).

Technically Meshuggah are a 7 string band, were up until Nothing (and Nothing was recorded using downtuned 7's as well).
