What would be a good gauge to get for the a string?

they only put a .052 or .054 on there stock.. Should try bumping it up to about .060 or .062 if not more.

Glory and praise to Thee, Satan, on high,
Where Thou didst reign, in Hell where Thou dost lie,
Vanquished, silent, dreaming eternally.
Grant that my soul some day rest close to Thee
Under the Tree of Knowledge which shall spread
Its branches like a Temple overhead.

I think a .60 should be good for A. Experimentation is the key. I personally like my A to be 58/60 - other members on here start at 64 and go up to 70.

So try them out. However note the thicker you get the crappier the tone.

Untrue! (to a certain extent) But we all have opinions. I'd say try out a .074

I've noticed quite the opposite, personally.

Really? I hav efound that the thicker I go (thickest I went was 64), the less tone it has. I mean the tone from the low E was so much better than compared to the low B.

I was running Daddarios with 64 as a b and 52 as E.

Well, on the UV right now, i got a 46 as an E and a 65 as a B.

I noticed when you get into the 60s, the feel and sound is much more in line with the other strings. It sounds much meaner amped up, as well.
