TheIllustratedLuthier Custom 30" scale 7 string

Hey guys,
I'm just finishing up my latest project which is a custom 7 string 30" uber-baritone tuned to fifths.
Some specs:
Mahogany / walnut body
Maple neck / ebony fingerboard
nylon coated bolt with belleville conical washer for super strong neck joint
gotoh mini locking tuners
hipshot bridge
Lundgren M7 bridge / DiMarzio Blaze neck
2 vol / 3-way toggle

Other specs are obvious, custom (wood) pickup covers with kanji carved in there. NO it doesn't affect
the tone the pickups are close to the strings just might need the volume to get turned up a tick. I wanted
to make the covers out of the same wood as the body just to keep it all in the family.

Enjoy! Sorry for the cluttered desk ect. Completed pics to be posted soon.

Looks nice. Except the pickup covers are Katakana, not kanji ;D Thats just nitpicking though.
So the covers are made from wood, then?
Great looking guitar.

Glory and praise to Thee, Satan, on high,
Where Thou didst reign, in Hell where Thou dost lie,
Vanquished, silent, dreaming eternally.
Grant that my soul some day rest close to Thee
Under the Tree of Knowledge which shall spread
Its branches like a Temple overhead.

Thanks! "Sleek" I think is one of the key words used when Zach
(MySpace.com - Iechine - Columbia, US - Metal - www.myspace.com/iechine) was describing what he wanted so.. thanks for bringing that word up!

"Except the pickup covers are Katakana, not kanji ;D"
oh, you're right. I should have known that! Sumimasen! Wakarimasen!

I actually really like the shape and the pickup switch placement.
Its got this kind of Superstrat mixed with Ibanez Sabre thing going on.

Thanks Ken, I was hoping people wouldn't attack me after this post like they did after I posted Tosin's guitar D:
I like the switch placement too, easy for killswitching (note the 2 volumes).

I assumed it was a vol/tone. Thats a good idea!

I actually liked Tosin's guitar. I would've had the upper horn shaped different, but thats personal preference. You can tell its a quality instrument just by looking at it though.

Wow nice! The ebony board + black body sets it off really nice. Sleek as hell!

I dig Iechine! I got into them by watching the guitarist's Meshuggah covers on Youtube lol. Small world innit.
