I just took the back off and it looks like it's so big just in case people want to add another pickup or other electronics. Other than that it's just a single volume with some wires.

The guitar body is 7/8 size of a normal Dinky (already roughly 7/8 size of a Soloist body) and has been made thinner so that it is lighter. If you were to shrink that cavity down as much as possible, you would gain all that weight back and then some, defeating the point of shrinking the body in the first place.

The ultra light mahogany/mahogany gives amazing tone - these things play REALLY well and sound amazing. They are so good, I've had four of them (one 6 string, one 7 string I ruined by trying to refin it, one 7 I let go to get the JP7, and now my Silverburst I will keep). I sold all the old ones to try and find something I liked more in all ways, but I can't find anything better.
