![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Curious about the RG1527... Dont see too many reviews for it and such so i wanted an inside opinion on it. Whats the neck like, the trem, all the wonderfulness of Ibanez? Would it really stack up tonewise and feel wise with my 1077? Im looking for a good 7 to get for B Standard, but dont want to settle on getting another 1077 or a 7620 (even tho the Edge LoPro fuckin pwns!) . So help me out if you will, lets get some pros and cons of the 1527. Looking for an Ibanez RG970XL |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I played one and feel the neck is similar to the Rg7620. However it was very minimally different as its the "prestige" profile vs. wizard I profile. The trem is the newer edge vs the lo-pro and i feel like both are great trems. I like how the new edge can take the strings with the ball ends (you dont have to cut them off). Also the neck is 5 piece - looks dead sexy. Having never played an 1077xl I couldnt really say how it would stack up, but I believe both share the same if not similar "Prestige" neck profile. Pickups blow for such an expensive guitar. Oh yeah - it comes in blue and a fucking awesome J-Craft Prestige Case. |

![]() | I have one and I love it, but now that I've owned a 7 string for awhile now I think I would prefer a baritone for a tighter low B. Other than that, I'm very happy with my 1527. Nice thin neck, feels very solid in my hands and stays in tune very well, so no complaints here. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Edit: you mean the 1527 ![]() they feel a lot like the RG7420 from the neck. They felt different than my old 7620. the Edge Pro bridges are fine bridges. Change the pickups and it'll be fine. I'd say you can get a used 7620 for about 1/3 the cost of a new 1527. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | very true, very true. but i wanted to stay prestige, sort of, lol. i dont know, theres just always been something ominously attractive about the 1527. Im not so concerned with the tightness of it in B Stand with my usual 10-59s, as it worked just fine on my old 7321 that i had. I just mainly want to get one, throw some EMGs in that bitch and rock on, lol. Still dont know whether to go with a 707 or 81-7 for the bridge pup. Ive got the 81-7 in my 1077xl, so i may just go with the 707 for a lil variety. anyways, keep em comin folks, i wanna hear your pros and cons. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Having played all of the sevens mentioned so far I can say they are all awesome. But, ultimately, RG1077XL > RG7620 > RG1527 The 1077 is an awesome innstrument, and if you love it, great. I've got dibs on one here in edinburgh so we shall see how that goes... But i'd take the 7620 over the 1527. Prestige snobbery (not a slight against you my friend) the 7620 is technically better spec'd than the 1527 - a new 1527 is MIK now, with New 7 pickups and an Edge Pro. The 7620 is MIJ, cheap as hell, and comes with the older, slightly different New 7's. While it doesn't carry the "Prestige" name, back then it would have been "prestige" if Ibanez made J. Customs to stick the J.Custom logo on the 1077XL. Its just a better guiar for less money because people aren't aware of what it is worth compared to a 1527 - which is still a current model and there is plenty of online reference prces for. Also, Wizard I > Wizard II. I just prefer the 7620 neck. ![]() Hope that helps ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | gracias, my friend. how does the K7 hold up? Its agot a LoPro, but thats about all i know. I know that youre not too thrilled with it as youve been tryin to sell yours for quite some time (at times i wish i could visit scotland just to stop by, lol) , but how does it stack against those other models too? Is the neck same profile as the 7620s? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I've got a K7 and a 1527 (black one)...they play almost identical IMO... I don't do much in the way of trem wankery, but I've had no problems with either bridge. I prefer the sound of the K7 to the basswood, but that's just a personal preference I guess. My 1527 has a blaze custom bridge and air norton neck, and a tremolno installed. ...I may be looking to unload the 1527 soon, as I have my KxK on order, and need sum moneyz in the near future |

I just spent ages trying to find a picture of the MIK label, next time I'll read it properly. ![]() It even says here: http://www.jemsite.com/ibanez/spec_ib7.htm Next time I'll think before posting ![]() Regardless, they are still shit. ![]() |
